Transistors

Transistors are logic gates. They are the most basic form of input and output processing. A processor is made of of thousands of transistors.

One transistor, for example might take two signals, a POSITIVE and NEGATIVE signal and return a POSITIVE signal. This would an OR-gate. In otherwords if either of its signals is positive (This one "OR" that one), then the output of is POSITIVE.
